CRISE HUMANITAIRE OUBLIER EN REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGOCRISE HUMANITAIRE OUBLIER EN REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO

Dr. De-Joseph Kakisingi, a humanitarian leader from the Democratic Republic of Congo, possesses over a decade of experience providing humanitarian aid to displaced populations, survivors of sexual violence, and victims of natural disasters. A pivotal figure in combating Covid-19 in his nation, he also serves as President of CONAFOHD, a etwork of over 400 local and national actors, with the strategic focus to accelerate the localisation of humanitarian action and the realisation of commitments outlined in the Grand Bargain. Co-founder of CONAFOHD, he is today a major figure in the humanitarian sector in the DRC. His work for greater recognition of the work of local humanitarian actors and for international donors and NGOs to respect the commitments they made as part of the Grand Bargain at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul in 2016, has made him a much consulted and involved actor, both in all the mechanisms contributing to the localisation of humanitarian aid in the DRC and in the campaign to put the major humanitarian crisis that the DRC has been experiencing for more than 30 years behind it. The crisis in the DRC is a forgotten and neglected one. The world needs to recognise what is happening in the DRC. Dr De-Joseph is using all his energy to draw the world’s attention to this silent humanitarian tragedy in the DRC.
